These baths and beaches open this weekend in Hungary!
Now that the pandemic does not overshadow our plans, the opening times of beaches only depend on the weather and traditions.
Beaches used to open every year on May 1, regardless of the weather. Nowadays, the owners usually take into consideration the expected number of guests, which correlates with the weather conditions, according to Turizmus.com. However, due to the current, a bit chillier weather, we do not have so many options to choose from.
Europe’s biggest bath complex, Hungarospa in Hajdúszoboszló, celebrates its opening day (which is never later than May 1, but this year, we can enjoy its 300,000 m² beach already today!) with a free party, featuring Hungarian pop artists.
As we approach summer, more and more parts of Hungarospa will be open, writes Termál Online. At this time, we can buy a pre-season ticket, which means that an adult ticket only costs 2800 Ft.
Zalakaros also opened its beach today, and they celebrated with folklore programs. In Budapest, we can already visit Palatinus and Paskál. Gellért opens on May 7, Aquaworld on May 14, but most of the beaches do not open until the end of May or the beginning of June. If we want to go to the western part of the country, we will have to wait a few more weeks for Igal and Harkány to open. In the east, Kiskunmajsa, Püspökladány, and Békéscsaba are already awaiting us.
